Horizon 2022 was organized on 30th April at the J.B. Auditorium, Ahmedabad Management Association. Dr. Neha Patel, Director of the Institute welcomed the dignitaries on and off the dias and the management students. The chief guest of the evening was Dr. Vikram Shah who is Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Shalby Hospitals. He spoke about understanding and identifying future trends even if it is not the usual norm and making a career in that particular segment. He gave his own example of how he pioneered the western concept of knee surgery in India going against the usual chosen fields of practice in medicine. He also mentioned that currently healthcare has tremendous opportunities especially for management students. He concluded his speech by saying this century is of the service sector and choose your opportunities wisely.
The first speaker of the evening was Dr. Savan Godiawala who is Partner Deloitte with 30 years of experience in the areas of Mergers Acquisitions, Private Equity, Debt Syndication, Restructuring, Business Valuation and Financial Due Diligence. He spoke about Indian economy in depth and its growing opportunities in the coming years quoting research from IMF and World Bank. He spoke in agreement with Dr.Shah that the service sector attracting more opportunities which in term will enhance the growth of the Indian economy.
The second speaker of the evening was Mr.Rajiv Bhatt who is Head-Corporate Affairs and Strategy-Group Bayport. With over 20 years of experience in Corporate Finance and leadership roles in industry as well as professional services firm, talked on impact, uncertainty, reaction and recovery of the current scenario post pandemic. He spoke extensively on changing economy and sectoral paradigms and capital allocations in the new economy. He concluded by highlighting on which sectors will grow and boom in the coming years.
The last speaker for the evening was Mr. Hemang Desai who is an HR professional, Coach and Mentor (Triledge Advisory & Coaching of Transformation-TACT), talked about an important aspect of economy-people. He informed us about meta-competencies for post covid success and touched upon the aspect of “learn, unlearn, relearn.” He spoke about importance of leadership, teams to help organization gain strategic advantage and focused of career of people instead of jobs.
