International Cell of Som-Lalit Institute of Management Studies

The International Cell of SLIMS envisions a world where individuals are empowered to thrive in multicultural environments, leveraging their knowledge, skills, and perspectives to create positive impact on a global scale.

Key Initiatives:

At SLIMS, we encourage our faculties and students to participate in cross-cultural workshops, seminars, and events designed to enhance their intercultural competence and communication skills. Both faculties and students learn to navigate cultural differences, build meaningful relationships, and collaborate effectively in multicultural teams. 

List of few of our activities

  • Live Project:
    An international level internship with our training and learning partner London school of Digital Marketing. In 2023, two students of Semester – 1: Jinesh Shah and Khadija Kadiwala got selected for the same with 100% sponsored internship. Based on the performance of the above student- Jinesh Shah also got research assignment at Transition, Scale-up and Metaverse Solutions, Netherlands for one and half months.
  • Expert Session :
    • Power BI : Session was organised by the institute in collaboration with Dr. Samir Rohadia, Business Intelligence Developer and IT Trainer, Hannover, Germany on 16th September, 2023
    • Strategic Decision Making Games conducted by Universidade Portucalense (Porto, Portugal)
      An online strategic decision-making game was organised by Universidade Portucalense (Porto, Portugal), for our students on 11th  December, 2023.
  • International Conference:
    An International E-Conference – “Being Covid Antifragile: The Sustainability & Growth Perspective” was organised jointly by–Somlalit Education & Research Foundation (SLERF), Tolani Motwane Institute of Management Studies (TMIMS), Narmada College of Management (NCM), (all colleges affiliated to GTU Gujarat Technological University) and Universal Business School (UBSS), Sydney, Australia on 11-12 February 2021. The conference had an interesting format with a pre-conference workshop and a post conference workshop aimed at helping participants especially academicians understand and appreciate the nuances of qualitative research and data analysis practices.

This initiative comes in the form of an Invitation for Book Chapters on Organizations’ Contributions for Sustainable Development written from a Case Study Perspective

  • Case book publication with international collaboration
    SLIMS has published the case book titled “Writer’s Corner- The Compilation of Case Studies” ISBN 978-93-92995-32-3.
    Editors are : Dr. Neha Patel (SLIMS) and Dr. Supriya Bhutiani (SLIMS)
    Co Editor : Dr. Shital Jayantilal (Universidade Portucalense in Porto, Portugal
    Dr. Sarmistha Sharma (Asian Business School).
    The primary focus of this compilation of case studies is on Micro, Small, and Medium
    Enterprises (MSMEs). The development of these case studies was significantly influenced by the active involvement of faculty members, who worked closely with students in a collaborative manner.  This collaborative initiative showcases the commitment of SLIMS and Universidade Portucalense  and Asian Business School in  fostering meaningful connections between academia and real-world business scenarios.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between SLIMS and the Daffodil International University, Bangladesh was signed on 28th July,2023. This MOU stands to benefit both institutions significantly. This collaboration will be bringing Student Exchange Programs, Research Collaborations, Management Practices,Faculty presentation in International Conference at Malaysia

Dr. Twinkle Trivedi from the institute has attended and presented paper at 6 TH International Conference On “Changing Business Set-Up &  Economic Environment In The Backdrop Of Covid-19” in Malaysia on 7th June 2023 held at Putra Buiness School organised by Primax Foundation. Paper Title “Role of Personality and Work Life Balance In Engaging Gen Z
