An Awareness Programme on Commodity Derivatives for MBA & PGP students of Som-Lalit Institute was organized on 11 th July, 2019, in order to impart understanding on Commodity Derivatives Market in India.
The presentation & awareness session was for 1 hour 30 minutes, along with question answer session. Following are the topics discussed during the session:

- Brief History on Commodity Derivatives & Its salient features compared to Stock Market
- Various concepts of Commodity Futures & Option contracts
- Present Commodity Derivatives allowed & available for trading with example for hedging
- How to interpret factors affecting commodity prices & Look & feel of Commodity derivatives trading
- Do’s & Don’ts in Commodity Market
The session was conducted by Mr Naimish M. Trivedi- Senior manager of Corporate Communications in MCX and Mr. Bhupal Khidrapure- Manager SEBI Western Regional Office.
