Abstract | Abstract The classical Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) tries to minimise the cost of dispatching goods from depots to customers using vehicles with limited carrying capacity. As a generalisation of the TSP, the problem is known to be NP-hard and several authors have proposed heuristics and meta-heuristics for obtaining good solutions. The authors present genetic algorithm-based approaches for solving the problem and compare the results with available results from other papers, in particular, the hybrid clustering based genetic algorithm. The authors find that the proposed methods give encouraging results on all these instances. The approach can be extended to solve multi depot VRPs with heterogeneous fleet of vehicles. | Abstract The classical Vehicle Routing Problem (VRP) tries to minimise the cost of dispatching goods from depots to customers using vehicles with limited carrying capacity. UGC/SCOPUS/Peer Reviewed/ABDC | Abstract Entrepreneurs are the innovators, job providers and the people who perform the economic activity with a responsibility towards the society. According to 6th economic census released by The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, there are 58.5 million entrepreneurs, of which 14 % are the women entrepreneurs. According to the Global Entrepreneurship Index- 2018, out of 137 countries, India’s rank is 68 th . As per Female Entrepreneurship Index 2015, out of 77 countries, India ranked at 70 th . The present study has attempted to analyse the perception of women in the age group of 20-35 towards entrepreneurship in Ahmedabad- Gujarat. Gujarat has always been a business driven state. The fundamentals of business are imbibed in the youth of Gujarat from early age. While the men are the obvious receivers of this knowledge, the female counterparts have also learnt the art of doing business from a very early age in life. The researchers have visited the International Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (ICECD), a pioneer institute in entrepreneurship training and development and Satyamev Jayate International School (SJS), a unique school of its kind, imparting formal entrepreneurial education from the class 1-10. ICECD has been recognized as “Centre of Excellence” by UN-ESCAP – 1997. The researchers have understood the scenario of development of women entrepreneurship in the region by interviewing the founder member and working Director of the Institute Dr. Hina Shah. |
